FR Americas Championship

$100k On The Line
The fight for the 2025 championship and the coveted $100,000 cash prize continues to intensify. For the first time this season, Bruno Ribeiro (No. 01 Alfa Cem / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) sits atop the point standings after earning his first wins of the season, taking the checkered flag twice at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last month. With eight podiums in 11 rounds, including three wins, Nicolas Ambiado (No. 55 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) trails Ribeiro by just three points. Behind them, Jett Bowling (No. 22 Bullhorn / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) and Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Rayne Nutrition / Ronald McDonald House Charities / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) continue to battle for third, with just 10 points separating the two former teammates. Brady Golan (No. 80 Attire / Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3), the only other driver to stand atop the box this season, rounds out the top five, just 70 points out of the championship lead. With 75 points available this weekend at NJMP, it’s still anyone’s title to win.

South Americans Finds Success in Ohio
No one was stronger than the South American contingent during FR Americas’ most-recent round at Mid-Ohio last month. Bruno Ribeiro (No. 01 Alfa Cem / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) from Brazil picked up his first two wins of the season with victories in Races 1 and 3, while Chile’s Nicolas Ambiado (No. 55 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) took the top honors in Race 2, making it a clean sweep for the South American duo. Both Kiwi Motorsport teammates travel back and forth from their native countries to race in FR Americas, but it’s proven to be a worthwhile effort, as they continue to separate themselves as the frontrunners for this year’s championship title and the $100,000 year-end cash prize.

New Jersey a Favorite After Past Success
Several drivers in this weekend’s field are no strangers to success at NJMP. Despite sitting fourth in the standings, Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Rayne Nutrition / Ronald McDonald House Charities / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) leads the series with four wins this season. With a 2024 FR Americas win at NJMP, and a 2023 F4 U.S. victory at the circuit, the Texan hopes to add to his tally this weekend while gaining ground in the points race. Last season, Nicolas Ambiado(No. 55 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) earned his first-career FR Americas win on the 2.25-mile track in Millville, N.J. Having never finished outside the top two at NJMP, Ambiado is hoping a return to one of his best circuits will help him overtake a three-point deficit in the standings to regain the top spot.

As FR Americas rookies this season, both Connor Roberts (No. 46 Apexspeed.com / Entropy Cellars / Atlantic Racing Team with Team Roberts Ligier JS F3) and Barrett Wolfe (No. 13 Make-A-Wish / Axiom Cyber / Cool.inc / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) had breakout moments at NJMP in F4 U.S. competition last year. Roberts earned his first-career victory, while Wolfe scored his first podiums with a pair of third-place results. Both are aiming to carry that momentum into their FR Americas campaigns this weekend.

Summer Balancing Act for Pollack
Jake Pollack (No. 5 PMCA Partners / The NRP Group / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) is juggling life both on and off the track this summer. After graduating high school this spring, the 18 year old is kicking off his college coursework, studying sports management at the University of Texas at San Antonio and preparing for his transfer to the University of Texas at Austin next year.

Lawley Matches Season-Best While Building a Business Off Track
James Lawley (No. 88 Pentagon Properties / Atlantic Racing Team Ligier JS F3) matched his best finish of the season at Mid-Ohio, crossing the finish line sixth during the series’ most recent round. It’s been a busy season for the 22-year-old Nova Scotian, who’s balancing business management studies at Acadia University, along with a blossoming real estate development company, Pentagon Properties, which he founded with friends.

F4 U.S. Championship

Championship Battles Takes Shape
After a shakeup at the top of the standings in the last round at Mid-Ohio, Cooper Shipman (No. 14 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) enters NJMP as the championship leader for the first time this season. Sweeping the two-race weekend with his first victories of the year, Shipman now holds a 6.5-point advantage over second-place Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422). Hauanio, who holds a series-best three victories in 2025, finished third in Race 1 at Mid-Ohio, but missed the podium for just the second-time this year in Race 2, allowing Shipman to take the lead. Meanwhile, Alex Popow (No. 55 Dr. Michael Thompson MS DDS PPLS / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) bounced back after a tough weekend at Road America with a pair of second-place finishes at Mid-Ohio to pull within 19 points of the championship lead.

Popow Chasing Checkered Flags at Home and Abroad
At the start of the season, Alex Popow (No. 55 Dr. Michael Thompson MS DDS PPLS / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) expected to focus solely on F4 U.S. competition. However, that plan changed a couple months ago with a phone call inviting him to run in the NACAM Formula 4 Championship for Alessandros Racing. While a conflict with F4 U.S. kept him out of the most recent round, Popow will be back on track with NACAM F4 August 15-16 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Shipman and Kiwi Teammates Get Behind-The-Scenes Look
After sweeping the weekend at Mid-Ohio, Cooper Shipman (No. 14 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) returned to the circuit two weeks later—this time for the INDYCAR race with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR). Through Kiwi Motorsport’s involvement in CGR’s Driver Development Program, Shipman, along with FR Americas teammates Jett Bowling (No. 22 Bullhorn / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) and Bruno Ribeiro (No. 01 Alfa Cem / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3), got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of one of INDYCAR’s top teams.

The trio spent the weekend shadowing CGR’s INDY NXT program, sitting in on engineering debriefs, listening on the radio and talking with senior management about team operations. To top it all off, they even had the chance to meet with Chip Ganassi himself, getting valuable career advice and a glimpse into what the next steps of their racing careers could look like.

Hauanio Looks for Breakthrough at NJMP
Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422) was a standout at NJMP last season while competing in Ligier JFC. He topped both practice sessions, started from pole and led plenty of laps in the weekend’s three races while playing a near-constant game of cat and mouse with teammate Brad Majman. Despite his pace, every time the checkered flag waved, Majman edged him to the line. Now competing in F4 U.S., Hauanio returns to NJMP with unfinished business. Hunting for his first win at the circuit, he’s also eyeing a return to the top of the championship standings.

Ligier Junior Formula Championship

The Fight for a Scholarship in F4 U.S.
With nine of 16 rounds complete, rookie Gastón Irazú (No. 42 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) continues to lead the way in Ligier JFC. The Uruguayan opened the season with six-straight podiums and added a win in Race 2 at Mid-Ohio, but in rare form, he missed the podium in the weekend’s other two events to tighten the points battle heading into NJMP. Drew Szuch (No. 28 Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) has matched Irazú’s three wins this season, and now sits just 17 points back in second after scoring a pair of third-place finishes at Mid-Ohio. Daniel Cará(No. 10 Tenuta Foppa & Ambrosi Wines / WorkHub / Cará Origin Motorsports Ligier JS F4) remains third, while Cash Felber (No. 11 BioLongevity Labs / TownHall / Rebol / DWT / Matrix Mind Water / Phantom Fireworks / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) climbed to fourth after earning his first-career win at Mid-Ohio. Harbir Dass (No. 23 Northcoast Medical Group / Dubby Energy / Dass Psych LLC / Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) rounds out the top five.

New Kid On The Block
Jordyn Martin (No. 8 LC Racing Team Ligier JS F4) joins the Ligier JFC paddock this weekend at NJMP with LC Racing Team. The Jensen Beach, Fla. native is in her first year racing formula cars, after graduating from go karts and finishing second in the championship at Homestead AMR Motorplex.

One Year After First Podium, Dass Searches for Win
Harbir Dass (No. 23 Northcoast Medical Group / Dubby Energy / Dass Psych LLC / Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) celebrated his first-career podium last season at NJMP, but this year, he’s looking for a bit more. Now with six podiums to his name, Dass is chasing his first win in Ligier JFC. In his second season with Berg Racing, the Georgia Tech student currently sits fifth in the championship standings, just 48.5 points out of the lead, and well within striking distance of a title run.

Jacir Takes on Prodigy Week
Fresh off a career-best finish at Mid-Ohio, Beckham Jacir (No. 7 STONICA / BELL / OMP / P1Doks / LC Racing Academy Ligier JS F4) is gearing up to show the world what he can do. After continuing his Ligier JFC campaign this weekend at NJMP, the 17 year old will head to Atlanta Motorsports Park to take part in Prodigy Week 2025. A member of the Williams Esports Racing Team, Jacir earned a prodigy pass in sim competition to secure his spot in the real-world racing event hosted by Racing Prodigy. As part of the Prodigy Racing League’s “e2Real” pathway, Prodigy Week is designed to develop sim racers into professional drivers with hand-on training, valuable seat time and real-world competition. The best performers during Prodigy Week are eligible for the Prodigy Draft, where they could be selected for a real-world racing contract with a PRL team.

Felber Hunting for More Trophies
Cash Felber (No. 11 BioLongevity Labs / TownHall / Rebol / DWT / Matrix Mind Water / Phantom Fireworks / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) delivered a standout performance during Ligier JFC’s most recent outing at Mid-Ohio. Racing at his home track, the 15-year-old earned his first-career victory in Race 1 and backed the effort up with a runner-up result in Race 3 to mark his first podiums in the series. Erasing a 31.5-point disadvantage to overtake fourth in the standings, Felber has his sights set on the final three rounds, with the goal of picking up as many points as possible.

Fourie Looks to Break into Top Five
After recently joining Kiwi Motorsport, Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F4) rolled into Mid-Ohio with a new number, fresh livery and serious pace. Finishing inside the top 10 in all three races, his weekend was highlighted by a career-best sixth-place finish. Now, with momentum on his side, Fourie has his sights set on breaking into the top five as the championship heads to NJMP.

Cará Looks to Capitalize on NJMP Experience
It’s been two years since Daniel Cará (No. 10 Tenuta Foppa & Ambrosi Wines / WorkHub / Cará Origin Motorsports Ligier JS F4) earned his first-career podium at NJMP. Then racing in F4 U.S., where the first-generation F4 car was still in use, Cará earned two podiums that weekend and kicked off a string of top-five finishes that resulted in him finishing sixth in the 2023 championship standings. After taking a year off from racing to finish his degree at the University of San Francisco, Cará is now back behind the wheel and turning heads with consistently fast performances week after week, including securing his first win at Road America earlier this spring. This weekend at NJMP, he looks to tally a few more and he continues to fight for the 2025 championship title and a chance to earn a scholarship to compete in F4 U.S. next season.
