April 8, 2026 – Kiwi Motorsport is ready to begin its 2026 campaign in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park, fielding two entries across both Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 classes. Additionally, Kiwi Motorsport will have entries in the Formula Regional Americas Championship and Formula 4 United States Championship on the opening weekend.
Will Franklin will compete in the Gen. 1 category, as he continues his progression with the team. Franklin previously raced with Kiwi Motorsport in the season opener of the Formula Pro USA West Coast Championship earlier this year and now sets his sights on podium contention at NOLA. He brings a diverse racing background that includes karting, Legends cars, and Radical Cup competition, providing a strong foundation as he continues to develop in formula racing.
Joining the team is Jack Speth, who will compete in the Gen. 2 class. A new addition to the Kiwi Motorsport lineup, Speth arrives with some seat time in the Gen. 1 car and will now transition into the Gen. 2 platform. While utilizing the same chassis as the FIA F4 U.S., the Gen. 2 class features reduced horsepower, creating a structured development step for drivers. The platform is designed as part of a clear ladder system, with the car returning to full power in future progression with the F4 U.S. Championship.
Team owner Teena Larsen expressed confidence in the team’s lineup and the continued growth of its development program.
“We are excited to get the Ligier JFC season underway with Will and Jack. Will has already shown strong progression with us and has the experience to be competitive right away. Jack is a great addition to the team, and the Gen. 2 platform makes this a perfect next step in his development. Our goal this weekend is to execute cleanly, continue learning, and put both drivers in a position to fight for strong results.”
With a balanced driver lineup and a focus on long-term development, Kiwi Motorsport enters the season opener at NOLA Motorsports Park aiming to build momentum and deliver competitive performances across both classes.
The race weekend will begin Thursday with official testing, followed by two additional test sessions and qualifying on Friday. Saturday will feature a doubleheader race day, while Sunday will conclude the weekend with one final race. Fans can follow live timing throughout the weekend on the Race Monitor app.
