ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (May 16, 2025) – Gastón Irazú will lead the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) field down the starting grid after inclement weather cancelled qualifying at Road America on Friday afternoon. With the starting lineup set by points, Irazú (No. 42 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4), a two-time winner, inherited the top spot, while Daniel Cará (No. 10 Tenuta Foppa & Ambrosi Wines / WorkHub / Cará Origin Motorsports Ligier JS F4) will start to his outside in second. Berg Racing teammates Harbir Dass (No. 23 Northcoast Medical Group / Dubby Energy / Dass Psych LLC / Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) and Drew Szuch (No. 28 Berg Racing Ligier JS F4) will comprise the second row, while Augusto Paschetta (No. 27 Scuderia Buell / Sport West / Bruno Maquinaria / Brapax Ligier JS F4) rounds out the top-five starters.

On Friday morning, Ligier JFC drivers had their sole practice session. Cará had the fastest lap of the session with a 2:20.298, but rookie contender Paschetta was hot in his tracks, just 0.164-seconds off the pace. The top-four drivers were all within a second, as NOLA winner Szuch ranked third and Dass was fourth. Cash Felber (No. 11 BioLongevity Labs / TownHall / Rebol / DWT / Matrix Mind Water / Phantom Fireworks / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) ranked fifth in the session, just 1.045 seconds behind Cará.

The lights go out for Ligier JFC’s first race of the weekend tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. CT. All Ligier JFC races from the Road America SpeedTour will stream on SpeedTour.TV, with timing and scoring available on the Race Monitor app. SPEED SPORT 1 will air Sunday morning’s races, with a live broadcast from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. CT—including Ligier JFC Race 2.
